On April 1st 2018 »ONE« (Ocean Network Express) started a new service connecting Koper with Piraeus and Damietta, Port of Koper said in its press release. The new carrier, which was formed in 2017 as a joint venture between Nippon Yusen Kaisha (N.Y.K.), Mitsui O.S.K. (MOL) Lines and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K-Line), is currently ranked as the 6th largest container shipping line in the world.
ONE is operating more than 250 container vessels, of which currently 31 are ultra-large container ships. The services will be provided as part of »THE Alliance« and will ensure regular weekly service between Port of Koper all major worldwide destinations through the transhipment ports of Piraeus and Damietta.
