Annual exports of LNG from Russia will make 33 to 62 million tonnes by 2030 depending on scenario, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Aleksandr Sobko, analyst of business school “Skolkovo”, as saying at the National Oil & Gas Forum.
According to him, Russian LNG projects are of moderate competitiveness as compared with other projects worldwide. High expenses for LNG transportation from Russia will be balanced by low cost of gas itself, believes the analyst.
Tatyana Mitrova, Director of the Skolkovo Energy Center, emphasized that amid increased competition in the LNG market and appearance of new large scale LNG facilities in the USA, Australia and Russia, LNG contracts will tend to become shorter and smaller in volume while pricing will strongly depend on oil prices – this process is already underway.
According to her, global demand for LNG surged in 2017 particularly driven by creation of floating storage facilities in Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc.
