In the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland, icebreakers have performed 2,258 escort operations during this winter navigation season. 1,199 operations have been performed at Big Port St. Petersburg, 370 – at the ports of Vyborg and Vysotsk, 202 operations – at the port of Primorsk and 487 operations – at the port of Ust-Luga.
All icebreakers are at the port now.
The canal towards the water area of Big Port St. Petersburg and the approaches to it are ice free.
Between the port of Vyborg and the Hally island: rotten shore ice of 5-10 cm thick. On the canal: ice-free water. Between the Hally island and Buoy No 4 of the Big Ship Channel: ice-free water with some ice floe observed.
At the ports of Primorsk and Ust-Luga: ice-free water.
Between buoy No 1 of the Big Ship Channel and the entrance buoy of Big Port St. Petersburg: ice-free water.
