Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg triples its expenses for environment protection
From the beginning of 2018, AO Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg invested RUB 11.1 million as part of its environmental programme, 3 times as much as in the same period of 2017.
The growth of expenses should be attributed to increased financing of works on modernization of environmental facilities. In particular, the company continued upgrading the system of water disposal in the First and Second districts of the port, reconstructed some of the sewer line parts, performed a package of works on establishing metering stations at some wastewater outlets. SP SPb also increased its expenses for maintenance of environmental facilities.
To strengthen the environmental control the port increased its expenses for monitoring of compliance with air quality standards. In the reporting period, the company increased the frequency of measuring air samples taken at the border of the sanitary protection zone.
