Vympel Shipyard launches 75th Mangust patrol boat for Russian FSB Border Service (photo)
Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region AO Vympel Shipyard (a company of Concern Kalashnikov) says it has launched yet another fast patrol boat of Project 12150, Mangust (Mongoose) built for Russian FSB Border Service.
According to the statement, it is the first launching of the company’s 2018 production programme.
Vympel Shipyard is building the largest series of boats in today’s Russia. The newly launched Mangust is the 75th boat in the series and the 50th built for FSB Border Service. Upon completion of the mooring, sea and state trials the boat will be operated in the Black Sea.
Vympel Shipyard builds medium- light-tonnage seagoing and river vessels and boats both for military and civil sectors. Since its inception in 1930, the company has built more than 30,000 ships of various types. Over the past 40 years, the shipbuilding company has delivered more than 1,800 boats to 29 countries in Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa and South America. Vympel Shipyard is building serial combat missile / patrol boats of new generation, high-speed SAR boats, FF1 ships, hydrographic survey and fishing vessels, tugs and other dedicated fleet. Vympel Shipyard also provides warranty / maintenance service for its products.
