FSI Administration of the Inland Water Ways’ Pechora Basin (Pechoravodput Administration) has started the 80th navigation season, says press center of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot).
Yuliya Mayevskaya, head of the waterway service, reported to Tatiana Konchina, head of Pechoravodput Administration, the readiness of the buoy tenders for operation in the coming navigation season. The ceremony of raising RF flag marked the beginning of navigation 2018.
As of May 24, three buoy tenders started operation in the Pechora basin.
As of May 25, aids to navigation are in operation between Vuktyl and Pechora on the Pechora river (234 km) with launching of aids to navigation between Pechora and Ust-Usa (124 km) scheduled for May 26.
Medium and heavy motion of ice is underway northward of Ust-Usa.
The results of the navigation 2017 are acknowledged to be positive despite challenging hydrometeorological situation. Cargo traffic in the basin grew by 18% to 644,570 tonnes (vs 548,200 tonnes carried in the navigation season of 2016.
