Wagenborg Towage successfully completes salvage of Ms Coxswain
Monday, the 28th of May, Wagenborg Towage successfully completed the salvage of Ms Coxswain, after the ship was struck on Saturday at the Dordtse Kil. Wagenborg Towage was asked to make an offer, the company said in its press release.
After contract signing, Wagenborg Towage was able to start Monday morning with the salvage work. After the diving inspection was done by Duc Diving at 7 am, the Wagenborg Towage salvage team arrived from Delfzijl. Ms Coxswain was at a depth of 10 meters.
Crane vessel Christiaan Willen was used as salvage vessel with which the salvage team have extended the slings under the ship.
Matador 2, a 400 tons sheerleg, was used to tie the strings to. The ship was then turned on her side and hoisted up over water.
Finally, the ship was pumped empty and moored in ‘s Gravendeel.
