Vroon's platform-supply vessel, VOS Patriot, was Christened on Monday 28 May, the company said in its press release. In a ceremony conducted in Rotterdam, the vessel was named by Mrs van der Velde, wife of Mr Wim van der Velde, Chief Technical Officer of Seaway Heavy Lifting.
VOS Patriot, the final vessel in a series of six PX-121-type platform-supply vessels (PSV) built at Cosco Guangdong Shipyard in China, was delivered to Vroon last month. The Ulstein-patented X-BOW® design ensures smoother vessel movements, optimal fuel efficiency and maximum comfort on board.
All six vessels operate under the management of Vroon Offshore Services, with VOS Patriot’s five sister PSVs active in North West Europe and the Mediterranean.
VOS Patriot has been fixed for 70 firm days plus further options thereafter. The vessel will be operating primarily at Trianel Windpark Borkum II on the German Continental Shelf, where she will provide noise-mitigation assistance for charterers, Seaway Heavy Lifting (SHL).
