In January-May 2018, sea transport hub of Taganrog handled 1,309,000 tonnes of cargo (+31%, year-on-year), the Azov Sea Ports Administration told IAA PortNews.
In the reporting period transshipment of grain surged by 69% to 580,900 tonnes, oil products – up 64% to 340,300 tonnes, coal – down 8% to 260,200 tonnes, ferrous metal – down 47% to 41,600 tonnes.
Exports grew by 6% to 756,100 tonnes, short-sea traffic – up 2.1 times to 513,700 tonnes, imports – down 18% to 39,200 tonnes.
In the 5-month period of 2018, the Harbour Master’s office of port Taganrog registered 344 arrivals and 332 departures including port fleet vessels versus 289 arrivals and 275 departures in January-May 2017.
