Ships of RF Navy's Pacific Fleet arrive in Philippines
A Pacific Fleet’s task force made up of large ASW ships Admiral Tributs, Admiral Vinogradov, and mid-size sea tanker Pechenga have arrived in Manila (the Philippines) on an unofficial visit, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
Today, in accordance with a plan of the visit, the commander of the detachment of combat ships, Сaptain 1st Rank Oleg Korolev will meet with command representatives of the Navy of the Philippines, and take part in a briefing for local mass media.
Moreover, Igor Khovaev, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of Palau and the Federated States of Micronesia, together with the commander of the Pacific Fleet’s detachment and commanders of ships will lay a wreath and flowers at the monument to Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines. Later, the meeting ceremony of the Russian Ambassador will be held on board of Admiral Vinogradov in the port of Manila.
Today, the Navy and coastal guard servicemen of the Philippines will visit Russian warships.
The visit of Russian ships to the Philippines will last until June 14.
