Rescuers of RF Navy’s Northern Fleet train in rendering assistance to submarine in Kola Bay
A Northern Fleet rescue detachment has undergone readiness inspection on assisting a bottomed simulated submarine, says press center of RF Defence Ministry. The training involved the vessel Georgy Titov and the AS-34 manned underwater vehicle, which dived to a depth of 500 metres in the Norwegian Sea a week ago.
The crew of the submersible worked out using the coaming platform to fix the submarine's mock model at a depth of 50 metres at the Gulf of Varlamov, Kola Bay.
After completing the training tasks, the AS-34 autonomous salvage craft was successfully brought aboard the rescue vessel Georgy Titov.
The rescuers were positively assessed by the Northern Fleet’s Directorate of Search-and-Rescue Operations by the end of the inspection.
