The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation is going to develop the Northern Sea Route together with Rosatom corporation, IAA PortNews correspondent cites RF Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh as saying at the extended meeting of the Board and Public Council of the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot).
“According to the Order of RF President, Rosatom was appointed the operator of the Northern Sea Route and we are currently working on the plans for our joint work to develop the Northern Sea Route. It is important to synchronize our efforts with the activities of Rosatom on attraction of private investments to ensure implementation of the strategic task set by the President and transportation of 80 tonnes of cargo by the Northern Sea Route by 2024. This work will require thorough and consistent coordination of our efforts with the activities of cargo shippers and operators”, said Yevgeny Ditrikh.
