Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga acquired RMG crane of 50 tonnes in capacity
YUG-2 terminal of Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga has acquired a new RMG crane of 50 tonnes in capacity. According to the stevedore, its new equipment costs EUR 4 million.
Disassembled RMG crane manufactured by Baltic Cranes Industry in Lithuania was delivered to the YUG-2 terminal by a special vessel. Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga used its Liebherr cranes to unload the vessel. Assembling is expected to take one month and a half with the commissioning scheduled for September 2018.
The new equipment is intended for handling of general cargo and containers. A fleet of 150 railcars can be handled simultaneously. The crane is fitted with innovative lifting equipment allowing for fast and smooth operation as well as with cargo positioning system to ensure efficient operation.
This year, Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga has considerable expanded its fleet of handling equipment. In the first half of 2018, the company acquired and put into operation five Case wheel loaders, two Samson Quarcon shiploaders, three Sennebogen material handlers, two Case tractor-mounted dozers. In the nearest time the company expects the delivery of rubber-tyred mobile crane Liebherr (the contract between was signed at the TransRussia exhibition in Moscow).
Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga OJSC is a stevedoring company operating Multipurpose Terminal YUG-2 and Auto-Railway Ferry Terminal. In 2017, the terminals handled 3.8 million tonnes of cargo.
