In January-July 2018, the network of Russian Railways loaded 749.4 million tonnes of cargo, up 3%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 216.1 million tonnes (+4.9%, year-on-year); coke – 6.3 million tonnes (-3.2%); crude and oil products – 137.4 million tonnes (flat, y-o-y); iron and manganese ore – 67.1 million tonnes (+5.1%); ferrous metal – 46.1 million tonnes (+11.6%); ferrous metal scrap – 8.4 million tonnes (-0.4%); chemical and mineral fertilizers – 33.7 million tonnes (+4.6%); cement – 14.6 million tonnes (-5.5%); timber – 27.3 million tonnes (+3.2%); grain – 15.9 million tonnes (+51.8%); construction materials – 74.4 million tonnes (-4.2%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 11.7 million tonnes (-2.3%); chemicals and soda – 15.5 million tonnes (+2.2%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 20.7 million tonnes (-3.6%).
From the beginning of the year, freight turnover totaled 1,500.4 billion tariff ton-km (+4.6%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 1,909.9 billion ton-km (+4.4%).
In July, loading totaled 107.6 million tonnes (+1%, year-on-year).
Freight turnover in July grew by 5.3%, year-on-year, to 219.3 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run - 278.3 billion ton-km (+5.1%).
