In January-July 2018, seaport of Azov handled 7.212 million tonnes of cargo (+48%, year-on-year).
According to the stevedoring companies’ statistics, internal turnover of Azov seaport grew by 61% to 5.919 million tonnes.
Exports grew by 29% to 2.791 million tonnes, imports – by 24% to 238,000 tonnes, short-sea traffic – 2.2 times to 2.891 million tonnes, transit – by 7% to 1.293 million tonnes.
In the reporting period, grain transshipment grew by 98% to 4.684 million tonnes, oil products – by 9% to 1.513 million tonnes, coal – by 50% to 685,000 tonnes.
Turnover of vessels at the port of Azov grew to 2,335 arrivals and 2,355 departures vs 1,798 arrivals and 1,820 departures a year ago.
Port of Azov is situated on the banks of the Don river. It is the main gateway between the Mediterranean Sea with the inland waterways of Russia and the Caspian Sea, for freight flows to the central part of Russia, the Urals and Central Asia. The boundaries of the port's basin include the River Don from the 3151.0-km stretch, the Koysug River to the receiving Buoy No 1 of Azov-Don Sea Canal, including outer anchorage No. 6 and the Calancea bayou to Dugino stop-over point.
