At the beginning of 2018, Vroon Offshore Services (VOS) was awarded a multi-year charter for two PX121 platform-supply vessels (PSV), to support Total E&P UK Limited (TEPUK) operations on the United Kingdom Continental Shelf (UKCS), Vroon announces in its press release.
The first vessel to commence operations was VOS Pace in February 2018, starting a fixed period of three firm years plus options. VOS Passion followed in June, to support drilling campaign operations on the UKCS, firm until September 2021, plus options.
On 30 June, VOS Passion was photographed at the Elgin-Franklin Fields. The Elgin-Franklin Fields are two adjacent gas condensate fields located in the Central Graben Area of the North Sea, 130 nautical miles east of Aberdeen, Scotland at a water depth of 93 metres.
VOS Pace and VOS Passion are modern, 2015- and 2016-built PX121-design DP2 PSVs, with an overall length of 83.40 metres, a deadweight of 4,200 MT and deck space of 850m2. Their Ulstein-patented X-BOW® design ensures smoother vessel movements, optimal fuel efficiency and maximum comfort on board. The two vessels form part of a series of six PX-121 type PSVs, constructed for Vroon at the COSCO Guangdong Shipyard in China and operated under the management of Vroon Offshore Services, with sister vessels active in North West Europe and the Mediterranean.
