Russian Railways: Loading of export cargo bound for domestic ports up 5.3% to 178.8 million tonnes in 7M’18

Russian Railways says that loading of Russia’s export cargo bound for domestic ports grew by 5.3%, year-on-year, to 178.8 million tonnes in January-July 2018.

In particular, coal loading grew by 3.3%, ferrous metal – by 11.4%, fertilizers – by 6.6%, grain – by 73.5%, paper – by 8.8%, timber – by 18.3%.

Coal accounts for 46.5% of exports, oil – for 26.2%, ferrous metal – for 8.9%, fertilizers – for 6.7%, grain – for 3.8%.

In the reporting period, loading of export cargo to the ports of the North-West Region exceeded 75.7 million tonnes (+8.1%, year-on-year), to the port of the Southern Region - 44.2 million tonnes (-0.7%), to the ports of the Far East Region – 58.8 million tonnes (+6.7%).
