The total cargo traffic at Russia’s southern Port Kavkaz in the January-July period 2018 rose to 25 218 000 tonnes, which represents a 30-percent growth year-on-year, the Kavkaz Harbourmaster office told PortNews regional correspondent.
Of the traffic volume, 8 534 000 tonnes of exports were handled at the Kavkaz harbour transshipment area (+41%).
Handling of grain export cargo increased by 2.4 times to 11 186 000 tonnes, of oil products - by 1% to 6 430 000 tonnes, of coal - by 78% to 779 000 tonnes. However, sulfur volume plummeted by 72% to 485 000 tonnes.
Exports shipped via Port Kavkaz in the reporting period shrinked by 36% to 375 000 tonnes, while imports increased by 2.1 times to 118 000 tonnes. Handling of coastal trade flows rose 27% to 15 992 000 tonnes.
Passenger traffic at Kavkaz port decreased by 56% to 1 283 000 people.
The Kavkaz Harbourmaster statistics showed bunker fuel supply at the harbour in Jan-Jul fell 29% to 199 500 tonnes.
The Harbourmaster office registered 15 347 calls (+4%) in the seven-month period.
