Port of Vyborg volumes in first seven months rose 28% to 970,000 tonnes
Total volume of different types of cargo handled at the Russian Port of Vyborg in January-July 2018 was 970,000 tonnes, which is 28% up on than the same period last year, the Baltic Sea Ports Authority statistics shows.
There was a 33-percent increase in the dry bulk segment to 899,000 tonnes. This was driven by a 2,2 times growth in coal and coke handling, to 573,500 tonnes, handling of mineral fertilizer rose by 8% to 304,800 tonnes.
Liquid bulk segment showed a 13-percent gain, including chemical products, to 14.7,000 tonnes.
There was a 4-percent decline in break bulk cargo segment to 42,800 tonnes. Scrap volume soared 83% to 9,300 tonnes.
In 2017 cargo throughput at the Port of Vyborg rose 12% to 1,54 million tonnes.
