OTEKO’s dry bulk terminal in Taman port to start operation in October 2018
Dry bulk terminal of OTEKO in the port of Taman will start handling coal in October, press center of the Krasnodar Region Administration refers to the Territory Governor Veniamin Kondratyev.
According to him, the project of dry bulk terminal at the port of Taman is in its final phase. The land development and purchase of equipment has been performed, construction of hydraulic engineering structure is nearing completion, assembling of metal structure is underway.
“In the nearest time the company is going to commence start-up and adjustment of Phase 1 facilities. The beginning of coal handling operations is scheduled for this October”, said the governor.
Veniamin Kondratyev also told about other investment projects in the port zone of Taman. Apart from the dry bulk terminal, a facility for transshipment of oversize and overweight cargo and a grain terminal are under construction. Besides, LPG facility is under reconstruction. Taking into consideration, injections in construction of a facility for transshipment LPG, crude oil and oil products put into operation in 2012, investments in those projects exceeded RUB $3.5 billion. Total investments are estimated at about $8 billion.
The projects are aimed to eliminate the deficit of bulk facilities in southern Russia. They will also ensure realization of the potential in production, export and supply of petrochemical and agricultural products to the Russian market.
The protocol of intent to build a high-tech industry part was signed by OTEKO and Krasnodar Territory Administration in 2016. It will comprise several enterprises of chemical and processing industry, five transshipment facilities, a greenhouse and a residential area.
The group of companies United Freight Forwarding Company (OTEKO Group) is the largest private investor in port infrastructure in southern Russia.
Since 2000 OTEKO Group has been implementing a comprehensive investment program for the construction of terminal facilities in the port of Taman. The Group has already built and launched a facility for export of liquefied petroleum gas, oil and oil products with capacity of 20 million tonnes a year. In line with the investment program, the company will build in Taman a terminal for handling coal, iron ore, sulfur and fertilizers of annual capacity of 35 million tonnes, and a complex for shipment of export grain with capacity of 14.5 million tonnes per year.
