Rosmorport looking into dredging over 1.5 million cbm of material in Vostochny and Nakhodka

FSUE Rosmorport is going to perform dredging works at the ports of Vostochny and Nakhodka, says press center of the regional administration referring to the meeting of the Primorsk Territory Government’s Marine Board.

“The works are planned for Vostochny and Nakhodka ports. More than 1.6 million cbm of material is to be dredged there”, said Victor Vanyukov, Dir of Rosmorport’s Far East Basin Branch.

According to him, there is lack of specialised contractors able to perform dredging. Besides, there are no dumping areas in Primorye.

One more problem emphasized by Victor Vanyukov is the participation of investors in construction of new terminals. According to him, this construction is necessary but it requires considerable investments. Therefore, private capital should be attracted.

“Today, we are considering 12 projects on port infrastructure development till 2030”, he said.
