Russia's state expert evaluation authority approves Phase 2 of Vostochny-Nakhodka transport hub

Russia’s Main Department of State Expertise (Glavgosexpertiza) says it has approved Phase 2 of Vostochny-Nakhodka transport hub development.

Experts of Glavgosexpertiza came to the conclusion that the results of engineering surveys and design documentation comply with the requirements of technical regulations and other established requirements.

The development of Vostochny-Nakhodka transport hub foresees the construction of a multi-purpose production and transshipment complex ‘Sever’ that will transship coal from railway transport to sea going vessels.

With the implementation of the transport hub development projects, annual delivery of cargo to Sever is expected to make 12 mln t in 2020 and 20 mln t in 2025.

The project is included into the Federal Targeted Programme on Modernization of Russia’s Transport System.

The project foresees the construction of three cargo births, a 54-meter long birth for port fleet, 1,049-meter long coast-protection structure as well as an operation/maneuvering water area. Among other facilities is a1.5-kilometer long access canal to the port.

The project will be financed by the federal budget.
