In January-August 2018, port Kavkaz handled 31.853 million tonnes of cargo (+27%, year-on-year). According to statistics obtained by IAA PortNews regional correspondent from the port Authority, exports via the port’s offshore transshipment facility increased by 44% to 11.196 million tonnes.
Transshipment of grain surged 2 times to 14.740 million tonnes, coal – 2.1 times to 919,000 tonnes, oil products – down 1% to 8.136 million tonnes, sulphur – down 3.3 times to 788,000 tonnes.
Exports from the port dropped by 6% to 525,000 tonnes, imports – grew by 90% to 122,000 tonnes, short-sea traffic – by 21% to 19.755 million tonnes.
In the 8-month period, passenger traffic fell by 68% to 1,345,705 passengers.
Bunker sales at port Kavkaz increased by 30% to 255,800 tonnes.
The number of calls to port Kavkaz declined by 2% to 17,942 calls.
