In January-August 2018, sea transport hub of Taganrog handled 2.31 million tonnes of cargo (+14%, year-on-year), the Azov Sea Ports Administration told IAA PortNews.
In the reporting period transshipment of grain grew by 22% to 945,000 tonnes, oil products – by 69% to 475,000 tonnes while coal transshipment fell by 15% to 428,000 tonnes, ferrous metal – by 52% to 53,000 tonnes.
Imports climbed by 3%, year-on-year, to 71,000 tonnes, short-sea traffic surged by 54% to 771,000 tonnes while exports declined by 2% to 1.189 million tonnes.
In the 8-month period of 2018, the Harbour Master’s office of port Taganrog registered 532 arrivals and 521 departures including port fleet vessels versus 502 arrivals and 494 departures in January-August 2017.
