Freight traffic at the Port of Singapore in January-August 2018 climbed 1.2% on the same period of 2017 to 418.62 million tonnes, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore provisional figures show.
Eight-month volume of oil cargo and non-oil bulk cargo fell by 4.4% and 8.1%, accordingly to 144.72 million and 11.47 million tonnes million tonnes.
Container traffic grew by 10.6% to 24.31 million TEUs.
Singapore is the city-state located on an island in Southeast Asia. In 2017, the port handled 626.17 million tonnes of cargo.
