Vladimir Panchenko dredger built for Lena Basin is put into operation
The Vladimir Panchenko, a modern dredger of high capacity built under the sub-programme “Marine and River Transport” of the federal targeted programme “Development of Russia’s Transport System in 2010-2020” for the Administration of Lena Basin has been put into operation in Yakutia, says press center of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot).
The dredger of Project RDB66.42 with a capacity of 1,000 cbm/h, RRR class «X О2.0 (ice 40) А has been built by PAO Shipbuilding - Ship Repair Corporation (Gorodets, Nizhny Novgorod region).
Under the agreement, the contractor transported the dredger to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and held the control test when delivering the vessel to its operator, Lena Basin Administration.
The dredger arrived to the place of destination on 29 August 2018. Upon completion of inspections, the vessel’s technological equipment underwent tests including performance of dredging works.
The acceptance/delivery certificate was signed on 14 September 2018. The contractor was informed about non-compliances identified by the acceptance team.
Upon completion of the commissioning procedure, the dredger crew prepared the vessel for the cold lay-up as the navigation season has closed.
According to the statement, involvement of the Vladimir Panchenko dredger at the bottleneck of the Lower Yana river will let ensure the guaranteed navigable pass on the Yana.
