RF Government allocates RUB 8.4 billion for the Far East development

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a Decree on budget allocations for implementation of projects focused on economic growth of the Far East Federal District. The Decree provides for allocation of RUB 8.4 billion for implementation of investment projects in the Far East. 

According to the explanation note, that will let implement investment projects in the sphere of mineral resources production, development of transport/social/energy infrastructure, production projects.

The Federal Budget for 2018 foresees allocations for the development of the Far East Federal District in the framework of the state programme for the social and economic development of the Far East and Baikal Regions in the amount of RUB 32.2 billion.

By the Government Decree dated 16 June 2018 (No 1194-р) RUB 21.2 billion have been distributed among the constituent entities of the Federation within the Far East Federal District. Non-distributed allocations were reserved for the state support of the Far East development.

Among the investment projects are the development of Khabarovsk airport, construction of Nizhneleninskoye-Tunzian railway bridge. Modernization of port infrastructure, development of international transport corridors Primorye-1 and Primorye-2, construction of Inaglinsky mining and processing complex and a pulp and paper plant in the Khabarovsk Territory.

The document has been considered and approved at the meeting of RF Government on 11 October 2018.
