In January-October 2018, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 21.1 million tonnes of cargo (+18%, year-on-year), the port’s statistics shows.
The Harbour Master’s office says loading grew by 21% to 13.9 million tonnes which 66% of the port’s total throughput.
In the reporting period, unloading dropped by 13% to 558,000 tonnes.
Transit has thus totaled 6.6 million tonnes (+16%, year-on-year).
In the 9-month period, transshipment of grain grew by 67% to 9.7 million tonnes, transshipment of oil products climbed by 8% to 6.5 million tonnes, transshipment of coal fell by 12% to 1.7 million tonnes, non-grain bulk cargo – by 32% to 1.5 million tonnes.
The number of calls totaled 7,326 units.
