The Port of Rotterdam Authority was recently presented with the 2018 ESPO Award. The European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO) has recognised the Port Authority’s dedicated efforts to making the port an attractive work environment for everyone as the foremost programme of its kind.
ESPO appreciates how the Port Authority works to strengthen connections between the port, the city and the surrounding region in order to improve the local employment market, working conditions and relations between education and the private sector. The other contenders in the finale were the North Sea Port (Vlissingen-Ghent), the Port of Tallinn and Associated British Ports.
According to ESPO jury chair Pat Cox: “The Jury was especially impressed by the strategic vision, commitment and means by which Rotterdam Port is planning for the future world of work both in its own operations and in partnership with its wider ecosystem.”
