Rhenus PartnerShip takes over the shipping company ČSPL
Rhenus PartnerShip, the specialist for inland waterway shipping, took over the inland waterway shipping company, ČSPL, a.s., from the ARGO corporate group. ČSPL, a.s. has its headquarters in the Czech town of Děčín. The acquisition is subject to approval by the responsible authorities.
The services provided by ČSPL, a.s. include transporting bulk commodities, containers and project loads on all the European inland waterways, freight forwarding and logistics services in the field of inland waterway and maritime transport operations, combined traffic as well as repair work on vessels and ships’ systems.
“By acquiring ČSPL, a.s., we’re planning to continue expanding our presence on European inland waterways. ČSPL, a.s., which operates more than 30 vessels and has many qualified workers, fits into our existing business activities very well,” said Thomas Maassen, the spokesperson for the managers of Rhenus PartnerShip, giving the reasons for the takeover. The inland waterway shipping company, ČSPL, a.s., mainly operates services to inland waterway ports in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
The shipping company, which was founded in 1922, has been part of the ARGO Group since 2002. “Our new shareholder, Rhenus PartnerShip, convinced us with its expertise in the inland waterway shipping business and its desire for growth. We’re certain that we’ll be able to expand our market position as we work together,” said Milan Raba, CEO of ČSPL, a.s.
