Coast Guard rescues four stranded mariners near South Padre Island, Texas

The Coast Guard rescued four mariners who became stranded near Port Mansfield, Texas, Thursday evening, the USCG news release said.

Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders received a report from an employee of Tow Boat U.S. that four mariners had become stranded on their vessel near the Port Mansfield jetties due to high winds and seas.

A Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew arrived on scene, hoisted all four crewmembers and transferred them to Port Mansfield airport.

There were no reported injuries.
