Coast Guard responds to vessel fire near Rockport, Texas

Coast Guard crews responded to a vessel fire near Rockport, Texas. Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders received a radio mayday call at 6:51 a.m. from a good Samaritan reporting a vessel on fire in Copano Bay, the USCG reports.

A Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter air crew was launched. Once on scene, the crew observed the fishing vessel in tow and sinking. It was reported that were no persons aboard the fishing vessel at the time of the fire.
