Russian Railways says that loading of Russia’s export cargo bound for domestic ports grew by 4.4%, year-on-year, to 52.4 million tonnes in Jan-Feb’2019.
In particular, coal loading grew by 8.6%, oil – by 5.4%, ore – by 23.6%, paper – by 5.4%, timber – by 4.4%.
Coal accounts for 45.5% of exports, oil – for 28.8%, ferrous metal – for 8.5%, fertilizers – for 6.3%, grain for 3.2%.
In the reporting period, loading of export cargo to the ports of the North-West Region exceeded 21.7 million tonnes (-2.3%, year-on-year), to the port of the Southern Region – about 13.6 million tonnes (+9.3%), to the ports of the Far East Region – over 17 million tonnes (+9.9%).
