In January-February 2019, port Kavkaz handled 3.693 million tonnes of cargo (-14%, year-on-year). According to statistics obtained by IAA PortNews regional correspondent from the port Authority, exports via the port’s offshore transshipment facility increased by 19% to 1.412 million tonnes.
Exports from port Kavkaz surged by 80% to 222,000 tonnes while imports plunged by 50% to 17,000 tonnes, short-sea traffic – by 31% to 2.24 million tonnes.
Transshipment of grain grew by 31% to 1.682 million tonnes, coal - 4 times to 809,000 tonnes. Meanwhile, transshipment of oil products dropped by 37% to 732,000 tonnes, inert aggregate and ore – by 41% to 165,000 tonnes, sulfur – by 27% to 111,000 tonnes.
Bunker sales at port Kavkaz decreased by 14% to 18,300 tonnes.
The number of calls to port Kavkaz fell by 74% to 886 calls.
