Cargo traffic at the Port of St. Petersburg in the first three months of 2019 totaled 14.26 million tonnes, which is a 3% growth on Q1 2018, the port authority statistics showed.
Liquid bulk volume increased by 4% to 2.05 million tonnes, dry bulk cargo — fell 1% to 1.93 million tonnes, handling of break-bulk cargo decreased by 8% to 3.12 million tonnes, of Ro-Ro cargo — down 4% to 175,500 tonnes. On the contrary, suction cargo volume increased by 37% to 98 600 tonnes.
Container traffic at the port grew by 12% to 564 596 TEUs.
In 2018, total cargo volumes at the Port of Saint Petersburg reached 59.32 million tonnes and container throughput - 2.70 million TEUs.
