The navigation season of 2019 on the Ob river was kicked off on April 27 on the Mikhailovskaya embankment in Novosibirsk, says press center of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot).
Sergey Pavlushkin, head of Ob Basin Administration, thanked the river workers for their large contribution to the preparation of the navigation.
“Tens of vessels with passengers and cargo will enter the rivers of Russia in the coming days, — he said. — 128,600 tonnes of cargo has been carried by today including 56,900 tonnes in the Novosibirsk Region. The ferry services of the Altai Territory and the Tomsk Region carried over 2,000 people”.
According to him, the key task is to ensure incident-free transportation of cargo and passengers.
Sergey Pavlushkin reminded about the work being carried out together with the regional government on inclusion of the most challenging segments into the comprehensive plan for upgrading and expanding core infrastructure.
Nikolay Vorobyov, Director of Moscow Shipping Company said that the first vessels loaded with cargo of construction companies in the Novorossiysk Region “are already on their way to the Khanty-Mansiysky Autonomous Region”.
The honor of raising the navigation flag was given to Vladimir Sushkov, Master of СС-2.
The ceremony programme included the parade of vessels: Moskva – 133, RT-399, Serzhen, Ples, Glazunov, Gryada and other vessels passed along the embankment.
