Russian Railways' network loading up 0.1% to 425.8 million tonnes in 4M’2019

In January-April 2019, the network of Russian Railways loaded 425.8 million tonnes of cargo, up 0.1%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.

In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 128 million tonnes (+1.2% year-on-year); coke – 3.8 million tonnes (+3.4%); crude oil and oil products – 79.5 million tonnes (-0.1%); iron and manganese ore – 39.4 million tonnes (+6.8%); ferrous metal – 25.7 million tonnes (-2.8%); ferrous metal scrap – 4.2 million tonnes (10.3%); chemical and mineral fertilizers – 20.3 million tonnes (+0.4%); cement –6.97 million tonnes (+5%); timber – 14.8 million tonnes (-4.3%); grain – 7.4 million tonnes (-24.4%); construction cargo – 37.96 million tonnes (-5.1%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock –6.26 million tonnes (-2.9%); chemicals and soda – 8.85 million tonnes (-2.6%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 11,1 million tonnes (-0.4%).

From the beginning of 2019, freight turnover totaled 875.9 billion tariff ton-km (+2.7%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 1,116.7 billion ton-km (+2.7%).

In April, Russian Railways carried 107.1 million tonnes, -1.9% YoY, freight turnover grew by 3.7%, year-on-year to 223.9 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run  grew by 3.2% to 284.1 billion ton-km.
