Multipurpose Reloading Complex handled 1.17 million tonnes of cargo in 1Q’2019, up 14% YoY
In the first quarter of 2019, Multipurpose Reloading Complex LLC (MRC, a company of UCL Holding) operating at the port of Ust-Luga handled 1.17 million tonnes of cargo, up 14%, year-on-year. Power coal constitutes the entire cargo flow of the company.
Having performed technical modernization of its facilities MRC ensured uninterrupted shipment of export coal. Average daily handling of railcars increased by 3%, year-on-year, to 189 units with maximum result of 272 open-top railcars per day. All in all, the company’s terminals handled more than 17,000 open-top railcars.
In the reporting period, MRC handled 33 cargo ships, 19% more than in the same period of 2018.
Multipurpose Reloading Complex LLC (MRC, a company of UCL Port, stevedoring division of the international transportation group UCL Holding) is a cargo terminal in the port of Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region, specializing in unloading, storage and loading of general and bulk cargoes. The main cargo is export power coal. In 2018, MRC handled 5.4 million tonnes of cargo.
