Maunu Visuri, M.Sc. (Tech.), has been appointed as the new President and CEO of Arctia Ltd as from 1 August 2019. Visuri, 51, has diverse experience of over 20 years in business management. According to the company’s press release, he will be moving to Arctia from the position of Managing Director of Nordic Regional Airlines Oy (Norra), and he has previously held senior management roles, e.g. at Finnair.
“Arctia is in a situation where competition in the production of maritime services is becoming increasingly tough, and the utilisation rate of the company’s fleet must be increased to ensure profitability and to finance future investments. As a result of the merger with the state-owned company Meritaito Ltd, which produces fairway maintenance and hydrographic surveying services, Arctia is also able to offer increasingly diverse and comprehensive services for challenging maritime conditions. Maunu Visuri has demonstrated his skills in successful operational management in challenging competitive situations and in investment financing, as well as in change management, which are also part of Arctia’s success factors,” says Pertti Saarela, Chairman of Arctia’s Board of Directors.
