An agreement between Saint-Petersburg and Kaliningrad Region on cooperation in marine cruise tourism signed in the framework of Saint-Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2019), says press center of municipal government.
The document was signed by Acting Governor of Saint-Petersburg Aleksandr Beglov and Kaliningrad Region Governor Anton Alikhanov.
The agreement foresees the creation of passenger shipping company that will let attract additional flow of Russia and foreign guests. The ships will enter all key ports of the Baltic Sea including Kaliningrad.
“Sea cruise tourism is a possibility to earn additional resources for the budgets of Saint-Petersburg and the Kaliningrad Region. By signing the agreement we give a new impetus to this development. We are not afraid of competition and we are ready to accept all tourist flows”, said Aleksandr Beglov.
