The frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov, heading a detachment of ships and vessels of the Northern Fleet in a long voyage, conducted an exercise to defeat a surface ship of the mock enemy, says press center of RF Defence Ministry. The exercise took place in the Atlantic Ocean along the route of transfer of the detachment away from the navigable waterways.
In addition to the direct execution of artillery firing, the crew of the frigate practiced the full range of measures for conducting sea battle, including determining the parameters of the surface target, issuing target designation, maneuvering and the use of camouflage devices. Also, the sailors have practiced the experience in damage control of weapons and technical equipment of the ship.
During the long voyage, which continues from February 26, the frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov made about 30,000 nautical miles and conducted several military exercises, including a missile attack on coastal targets and the grouping of mock enemy ships.
