Unifeeder invests in CNG trucks
As a true door-to-door provider of multimodal transport solutions and front runner of LNG operated container vessels, Unifeeder is committed to support the supply chain of its customers with sustainable logistical alternatives. Since 2017 Unifeeder has been operating the first retrofitted LNG container feeder vessel in the world. Since its conversion, the vessel consumed approx. 5400 tons of LNG and has proven that a container feeder vessel can be retrofitted successfully and contribute to a cutback of air pollution, the Company said in a press release.
Unifeeder ambitions however, do not end on sustainable sea transport solutions. The Company announces that it is extending its inland service offering with natural gas trucks CNG (compressed natural gas) which can further reduce CO2 emissions from trucks by up to 30 percent compared to diesel and gasoline.
"Being a key player in global and regional supply chains, we recognize our environmental responsibilities and we are committed to contribute to a further reduction of local as well as global carbon footprint.
