150 graduates of Moscow State Water Transport Academy awarded with diplomas

Moscow State Academy of Water Transport, branch of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping held a convocation ceremony on 18 July 2019 involving almost a hundred and a half graduates, says press center of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot).

The ceremony was opened by Yury Tsvetkov, Deputy Minister of Transport – head of Rosmorrechflot. He congratulated the graduates on a landmark event of their lives and wished them a good professional start.

Among the ceremony participants was Sergey Baryshnikov, Rector of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping; State Duma Deputy Aleksandr Starovoitov; Boris Kabakov, Director of the Shipbuilding and Marine Facilities Department of Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade; Aleksandr Zaitsev, President of the Association of Ports and Ship Owners of River Transport, as well as other officials.

The history of the Academy dates back to 1980 when Moscow Institute of the Engineers of Water Transport was founded. Moscow State Academy of Water Transport was officially established in 1989 in the result of merging the Moscow Institute of the Engineers of Water Transport, the Moscow River College and secondary vocational (shipping) school No 202. Today the Academy is a large educational and scientific complex which structurally consists of 3 faculties, 16 departments and two libraries.
