In January-July 2019, the network of Russian Railways loaded 741.5 million tonnes of cargo, down 1.3%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 215.8 million tonnes (-1%, year-on-year); coke – 6.3 million tonnes (-0.4%); crude oil and oil products – 134.8 million tonnes (-1.9%); iron and manganese ore – 69.3 million tonnes (+3.3%); ferrous metal – 44.2 million tonnes (-4%); ferrous metal scrap – 8.4 million tonnes (-0.1%); chemical and mineral fertilizers – 35.5 million tonnes (+2.2%); cement – 15.4 million tonnes (+5.8%); timber – 25.8 million tonnes (-5.4%); grain – 10.6 million tonnes (-33.4%); construction cargo – 72.2 million tonnes (-3.1%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 11.5 million tonnes (-2.5%); chemicals and soda – 15.3 million tonnes (-1.2%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 20.2 million tonnes (-2.7%).
From the beginning of 2019, freight turnover totaled 1,520.1 billion tariff ton-km (+1.3%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 1,933.9 billion ton-km (+1.2%).
In July 2019, loading totaled 108 million tonnes, which is similar to the result in the same period of the previous year.
In July 2019, freight turnover decreased by 3.1%, year-on-year, to 212.9 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run fell by 3.1% to 270.1 billion ton-km.
