Total volume of different cargo handled at Russia’s southern Port Kavkaz in January-July 2019 reached 16,606,000, or 34% down on the same period a year earlier, IAA PortNews regional correspondent reported citing Port Kavkaz Harbourmaster office.
Of the seven-month volume 6,529,000 tonnes of exports were handled at an offshore transshipment terminal of Port of Kavkaz, which represents a 24% decline.
Overall, exports flow through Port Kavkaz increased by 2.4 times to 964,000 tonnes, while imports volume shrank by 69% to 37,000 tonnes and coastal trade volume – by 44%, to 8,926,000 tonnes.
Coal volume handled at the port dry bulk facilities soared by 3.1 times to 2,409,000, of sulfur – by 3.7 times (1,812,000 tonnes).
Handling of oil products decreased by 17% to 5,346,000 tonnes, of grain / grain cargo - by 47% to 5,942,000 tonnes.
In the reporting period bunker fuel supplies at Port Kavkaz fell 25% to 150,000 tonnes.
Port Kavkaz Harbourmaster office in January-July 2019 registered 3,931 calls, which is 3.9 times less than during the same period a year ago.
