President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi visited the Far East Street exhibition held on the embankment of Ajax Bay, Russky Island, as part of the fifth Eastern Economic Forum. According to official statement of Kremlin, Vladimir Putin and Narendra Modi were demonstrated a model of Vostochny Port’s Phase 3, a facility for closed coal transshipment. Narendra Modi could see coal loading at the new facility broadcast live.
While examining the model, Primorsky Territory Governor Oleg Kozhemyako referred to the terminal as the most advanced and environmentally friendly facility.
“The vessel bound for India is being loaded at the moment”, commented Vladimir Putin.
Vostochny Port JSC (Vrangel settlement, Primorsky Territory), the resident of Free Port of Vladivostok, is Russia’s largest specialized terminal with high-tech coal transshipment. Vostochny Port is a free access facility open for all coal manufacturers of Russia. In 2018, it handled 24.3 million tonnes of cargo.
