Pella shipyard to build 18MW icebreaker

Leningrad Shipyard “Pella” OJSC will build a 18MW icebreaker. According to the documents of the tender for the shipbuilding contract award announced by FSUE Rosmorport, Pella was the only bidding company.

The contract price is RUB 7.540 billion.

The works are to be completed on 30 September 2024.

Pella Shipyard based in Russia’s Leningrad region was founded in 1950. The shipyard specializes in construction of state-of-the-art multi-functional sea-going ships. One of company’s priorities is to renovate the obsolete fishing fleet of Russia. The shipyard can simultaneously build at least 8 sea-going ships per year with length between 50 m and 100 м and draught of up to 6 m, including Arctic class ships.
