In January-August 2019, sea transport hub of Taganrog handled 1.911 million tonnes of cargo (-6%, year-on-year), the Azov Sea Ports Administration told IAA PortNews.
In the reporting period transshipment of oil products grew by 20% to 571,000 tonnes, ferrous metal – by 30% to 67,000 tonnes. Meanwhile, transshipment of grain dropped by 15% to 803,000 tonnes, coal – by 18% to 349,000 tonnes.
Imports declined by 3% to 69,000 tonnes, exports - by 1% to 1.178 million tonnes, short-sea traffic – by 14% to 665,000 tonnes.
In January-August 2019, the Harbour Master’s office of port Taganrog registered 483 arrivals and 468 departures including port fleet vessels versus 532 arrivals and 521 departures in January-August 2018.
