In January-August 2019, the Port of St. Petersburg handled 40.17 million tonnes of cargo (+2%, year-on-year). According to the port authority, transshipment of oil products grew by 8% to 6.50 million tonnes, dry bulk cargo – climbed by 4% to 5.80 million tonnes, general cargo – down 10% to 8.15 million tonnes, transshipment of Ro-Ro cargo – down 11% to 844,800 tonnes, loose cargo - up 19% to 241,600 tonnes including 280,800 tonnes of timber (+30%).
The port’s container throughput increased by 5% to 1,506,849 TEUs.
In 2018, the port handled 59.32 mln t of cargo, its container throughput was 2.7 mln TEUs.
