On October 31, 2019, on the occasion of the 185th anniversary of maritime education in Kherson and the International Black Sea Day, NIBULON signed a cooperation agreement with Kherson State Maritime Academy and the “Maritime Industry Innovations” Science Park of Kherson State Maritime Academy, NIBULON says in a press release.
“The Ukrainian fleet will be constructed! The Ukrainian crew, Ukrainian seamen, and Ukrainian captains will have a job! Ukraine will be a maritime state due to these educational institutions”, shared NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy on his Facebook page, having visited a student initiation ceremony at Kherson State Maritime Academy last autumn. He mentioned, “Today we make a lot to arrange practical training for these students at NIBULON”.
At present, about 25% of the graduates work for NIBULON’s shipping company, occupying various positions, such as sailors, engine mechanics, skippers, mechanics, electricians, captain’s mates, and captains on board NIBULON’s modern vessels. According to the company’s management, everyone will benefit from this cooperation, which contributes to the efficient implementation of the scientific achievements in educational and practical activities.
Rector of Kherson State Maritime Academy Vasyl Cherniavskyi mentioned, “Today NIBULON is a leading company in Ukraine. Sergiy Dudchenko, an experienced captain working for many world leading companies, visited the shipping company and went aboard NIBULON’s vessels. He was impressed by the automation level and comfortable living conditions on board the vessels. It is good that we have such a company in Ukraine. The maritime industry (river industry) is being developed in Ukraine. It is pleasant to realize that we have prospects for development. It is great that we have an opportunity to work with NIBULON.”
The agreement aims at developing Ukraine’s maritime sector, in particular developing navigation in Ukraine, using inland waterways more efficiently, increasing Ukraine’s competitiveness worldwide as well as its sustainability as a maritime state. This cooperation is versatile and ensures partnership in educational, scientific, methodical, and production activities. Besides educational and practical training on board our modern and comfortable vessels with the possibility of further employment, the cooperation promotes the creation of common working groups, the participation in the issue-related events, the arrangement of meetings, conferences, seminars, and others.
For many years, the youth has been a driving force for the company, its priceless achievement, and profitable investments. Consequently, the cooperation with specialized educational institutions is a constant direction in NIBULON’s personnel policy. According to NIBULON’s General Director, the company should provide training to its employees, in order “to build corporate ethical culture and to achieve success…” Due to the cooperation, NIBULON shares not only its knowledge and experience during practical training but also the main principles of its operation, thereby educating a new generation of maritime specialists who will set lofty aims and develop the country’s maritime industry as well as Ukraine’s economy.
In addition, NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy together with Deputy General Director of Personnel Larysa Buryk congratulated Kherson State Maritime Academy on the 185th anniversary since it was founded and presented a UAH 100 thousand certificate with a wooden mechanical sample of the 140-m NIBULON MAX self-propelled floating vessel, the largest one in NIBULON’s fleet.
